Writing and presentation coaching
Need some help with your writing and presentation skills?
Do you want to develop your writing skills, improve your paper’s ideas organization, paragraph development, sentence structure and avoid spelling or grammatical errors?
Do you want to improve your presentation skills, learn how to use voice, body language and transitions effectively so you can connect with your audience?
You can book one-on-one or group appointments for communication skills coaching offered by the Rotman Commerce Centre for Professional Skills.
Appointments are available both online or in-person. In-person appointments are located in room WO13, Woodsworth College Residence (321 Bloor St W) and are typically available:
- Wednesdays 1-9pm
- Thursday 10-2pm
- Fridays 3-7pm.
To book an appointment for writing or presentation coaching, go to uoft.me/writingcentres and select “Rotman Commerce Centre for Professional Skills.” Register for a WCONLINE account or login to your account (if you have one). For team/ group assignments, assign one student from the group to book an appointment for the team and share the meeting details with the group.
How to book an appointment
- Register for an account using your @mail.utoronto.ca email address and follow the confirmation prompts you receive via email. At the bottom of the registration page, click on “yes” next to “include iCal links with appointment confirmation messages”.
- Once your registration is complete, select the schedule: Writing & Presentation Coaching on the drop-down menu.
- Click on the white box for an appointment slot. Each appointment will be 45 mins. You may attach a draft of your assignment or any other documents. If your draft is not ready, you may also share a Google link (or other live document sharing link) of your draft during your appointment.
- You will receive an appointment confirmation email with your appointment details and meeting link.
*Please Note: Appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis. You may book up to one appointment per week — and up to three in advance.
The CPS Writing Centre appointments are in high demand and as such we kindly ask that if you cannot make it to your appointment, please cancel the booking at least one day (24 hours) in advance to give students on the waiting list a chance to book. If you miss two appointments or if you late-cancel twice during the semester, your writing centre privileges will be suspended for the remainder of the term. Cancelling within five hours of your appointment start time counts as a late cancellation. These policies help us maximize our resources for all Rotman Commerce students and make as many appointments as possible available to all.
If you encounter any problems booking an appointment or require any accommodations for your appointment, please email email@example.com.
