The University of Toronto Student Leadership Awards annually recognize students in their final year of study who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, volunteerism, and commitment to the University.

The 2026 UTSLA nomination period is now open and will close November 14th, 5 pm EST.

How to Apply:

Step 1: Review the Eligibility Criteria

  • Nominees must be current Rotman Commerce students graduating in June 2026 or November 2026.
  • Be nominated by a member of U of T staff, faculty, or alumni. A student cannot nominate another student.
  • Be expected to complete all courses and to convocate from their currently enrolled program by August 31 of the current academic year (June or November 2026).
  • Have not received this award previously during their academic career.
  • Be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 2.70 (B-) at the end of the previous academic session prior to the opening of the current nomination period.

Note: UTSLA winners are NOT eligible for RC Director’s Leadership Award, but may apply to other RC Director’s Awards (Academic; Community; Equity; Diversity, and Inclusion; and Innovation).

Awards of Excellence scholarship recipients and award recipients are the leaders of their classes. Academically, they take advantage of the quality and breadth of learning and research opportunities provided by the University. Through leadership in athletics, student government, clubs and student groups, in addition to many leadership roles outside the university, they enhance the experiences of their peers by contributing to the development of diverse and strong student communities.
