Pre-Departure

Please reach out to the UofT Learning Abroad office if you have questions regarding your nomination, information regarding how to contact the inbound office at your host institution, and any visa-related questions.
Course Pre-Assessment Requests (Rotman Commerce and Other Departments)
Once you have been nominated and accepted to your host institution, you must review/complete the following in order to complete your pre-departure requirements:
- Attend UofT’s Safety Abroad Workshop and Learning Abroad information session.
- Read Exchange Programs: Types of Transfer Credits to understand how transfer credits may work towards your program progression.
- Review the Course Pre-Assessment Request Form Checklist before completing the Course Pre-Assessment Request form (as found below).
- Complete the Course Pre-Assessment Request form for all RSM courses. Review previously approved RSM courses by host institution that are valid for 3 years from the year of approval.
- For all non-RSM courses, use Transfer Explorer to review previously approved non-RSM courses. Course assessments found on Transfer Explorer are valid for 5 years from the year of approval. Non-RSM theme courses require departmental approval. It is your responsibility to contact UofT’s Transfer Credit office to receive a list of department contacts.
- Register in the Safety Abroad Database.
Host Institution
The host institution’s inbound office can assist with course registration, obtaining recent syllabi for pre-assessments, and providing all available support for inbound students.

Arrival
Transfer Credit Office
- Complete the Transfer Credit Request Form from Transfer Credit Office found in the Quercus module for nominated students. Complete steps 6 and 7 as discussed on the Transfer Credit Office page
- Transcript: Be sure to obtain a copy of the transcript and that a copy is forwarded to UofT’s Transfer Credit Office.
