Interested in a pursuing a career in advertising or marketing?
Ad Standards is a non-profit organization, and the only national independent advertising self-regulatory organization in Canada. Their mission is to ensure advertising in Canada is truthful, fair, and accurate.
Each year, Ad Standards awards two $1500 scholarships to students enrolled in an undergraduate advertising or marketing program at a Canadian university or college – one for English-language education and one for French-language education. Successful applicants must demonstrate:
- a commitment to volunteerism
- a record of academic excellence
- an interest in pursuing a career in advertising or marketing.

The application deadline for this year is February 28, 2025 – NOW CLOSED.
CAD $8,000 scholarships are awarded to assist students with disabilities, Indigenous, LGBTQ2S+, Francophone and those who identify as a member of a visible minority group or racialized group to help remove barriers to education and support greater diversity in our workforce.
In addition to the award, successful candidates may be offered a work opportunity at the Bank, with mentorship by a Bank employee.
To be considered for one of these scholarships, you must:
- be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident
- be pursuing post-secondary studies at the University level (undergraduate) or College – either full-time or part-time – in a field related to the Bank’s work, including:
- Economics and Finance: economics, computer science, mathematics or statistics, commerce or business administration with a finance major
- Administration and Operations: financial services, administration and business, project management, human resources, accounting, communications and web development, internal audit, currency production, knowledge and information management, security
- Information Technology and Cyber Security: software development, network engineering, solution architecture, project management, business analysis, cyber security
- have an overall average grade of 70 percent or higher
- must be enrolled in a post-secondary institution for fall 2025

- The DAAD program offers a general exchange program for undergraduate and graduate students who wish to pursue graduate-level studies or research in Germany. For more information on DAAD funding and a full list of scholarships they offer please visit DAAD Scholarship Database.
- DAAD Study Scholarship:
Students in the final year of their undergraduate studies will receive a scholarship for a full Master’s degree at a German University or receive funding to complete course work at a German University towards their master’s degree at U of T.
The research grant offers the opportunity to realise a research project in Germany. The programme supports research stays during a doctorate or in the early postdoc phase.
This program offers students the opportunity to do a bi-national doctoral degree at your home university and at a university in Germany.
For the Study scholarships supporting Master’s level study, there are individual deadlines for different program streams. Please see below for all program deadlines. You can follow the directions available on the website to submit your applications.

The CIE will only nominate candidates for the Oct. 31st deadline, Study Scholarships and Research Grants in Germany and they are then submitted to DAAD New York. The remainder of the streams are adjudicated in Bonn and applications to these are sent directly there.

The Laidlaw Undergraduate Research & Leadership Programme, also known as the Laidlaw Scholars Programme, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders. We believe in the power of data-driven decision-making and the importance of leading with integrity. This program is open to full-time first and second-year undergraduate students studying at the University of Toronto (all three campuses) from all backgrounds and fields of study. To apply for the program, you can start brainstorming research ideas, contact a professor ask them to serve in the capacity of your research advisor, and prepare the application package. McCall MacBain is offering a webinar on March 5th from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. for U of T students and recent graduates. There are up to 30 full scholarships and 100 entrance awards offered for Fall 2026 admission to a master’s or professional studies program at McGill. The scholarship application opens in June. This webinar is an for students to ask more detailed questions about the scholarship. Two U of T finalists will speak at the session.
Interested in mentorship, leadership skills development, and funding to start your next degree?
The McCall MacBain Scholarships are Canada’s largest leadership-based scholarships for master’s and professional studies. The program brings together students who strive to engage in positive change by taking on meaningful leadership roles.
The scholarship covers:
- Tuition and fees for 150+ eligible programs at McGill University
- A living stipend of $2,300 per month during academic terms
- Summer funding options and a relocation grant
- Mentors and coaching
- A leadership curriculum
Up to 30 full scholarships and 100 one-time awards, ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 each, will be offered for 2026 admission. Two-thirds of the scholarships are available for Canadian students, and one-third are for international students in Canada and abroad.
Criteria: Character, community engagement, leadership potential, entrepreneurial spirit, academic strength, and intellectual curiosity.
Applications: open in June 2025 for Summer/Fall 2026 entry.
