Scrymgeour Scholarships in Entrepreneurial Management

This award was created  because of an interest in supporting  the recruitment  of outstanding students with entrepreneurial and strategic management potential. The  donor’s primary  interest is in supporting students from Eastern Ontario (613 or 905 area code east of Oshawa) who are interested in studying the disciplines associated with the Management Specialist (e.g., marketing, strategy, and organizational behaviour); and who have a long-term commitment to contributing  to the economic vitality of their local communities.

To be considered for the award, applicants must complete the Awards Profile by logging into join.utoronto.ca and following the Awards Profile link. Short-listed candidates will be contacted to arrange for either an in-person, telephone, or Skype interview. This award is to be based on merit to a full-time student on admission to the Rotman Commerce program. The applicant will be determined through an application, including an essay and an interview process with consideration given to academic ability, involvement in sports, extracurricular activities, community engagement, and entrepreneurial spirit.

The award is renewable on the  basis  of continued  full-time  registration  in  the  Rotman Commerce program and minimum annual GPA of 3.0. In years 3 and 4 if students do not reach a GPA minimum of 3.0, the award will be distributed at the discretion of the Director of Rotman Commerce.
