You are guaranteed admission to the Rotman Commerce program for your second year, on the condition that you meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

\n

1.       Complete RSM100H1<\/strong><\/a>, Introduction to Management, with a final mark of at least 67%.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

\n

2.       Complete ECO101H1<\/strong><\/a>, Principles of Microeconomics, and ECO102H1<\/strong><\/a>, Principles of Macroeconomics, each with a mark of at least 63%. Students must obtain a grade of at least 63% in each of these two courses. NOTE: ECO101H1 is the prerequisite for ECO102H1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Complete\u202fMAT133Y1<\/strong><\/a>, Calculus and Linear Algebra for Commerce with a mark of at least 63%, OR<\/strong>\u202f MAT130H1<\/a>\/MAT135H1<\/a><\/strong>\u202fwith a final mark of at least 60% \u202fAND <\/strong>\u202fMAT136H1<\/a><\/strong>with a final mark of at least 60%, OR <\/strong>\u202fMAT137Y1<\/a>\/[MAT148H1<\/a>, MAT149H1<\/a><\/strong>]\u202fwith a final mark of at least 55%, OR<\/strong>\u202f MAT157Y1<\/a>\u202f\/[MAT158H1<\/a>, MAT159H1<\/a><\/strong>] with a final mark of at least 55%.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Yes, you can repeat a GA required course once<\/strong> in order to meet the minimum grade requirement, and it’s important to know that any posted grade, whether it’s under 50%, i.e., F grade, or a pass grade that is under the minimum required mark, will count as an attempt. After two attempts, you will not be able to pursue a Rotman Commerce specialist.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

\n

If you fail<\/strong> a GA course, you may repeat it. However, if you fail<\/strong> the course on your first attempt, both the first and subsequent final grades will be factored into your CGPA.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

\n

If you pass<\/strong> a course, but do not meet the minimum grade requirement, then your lower grade will be marked as Extra<\/a> and appear as EXT on your transcript once you have taken the course a second time. It\u2019s important to remember that you may repeat a passed course one time only <\/strong>as an extra credit. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Note: if you drop a course by the drop date<\/a> or use an LWD<\/a> it does not count as an attempt.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Once your final grade is posted, you are not able to add a repeated course on ACORN. You will need to contact your College Registrar\u2019s Office<\/a> or RC academic advisor to help you add the course.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n

You may request an LWD through your College Registrar\u2019s office<\/a> anytime after the regular drop date until LWD deadline, indicated on the Academic Dates and Deadlines<\/a> page. If you think you may fail a course or you realize you will not meet the grade requirement in a GA course, you should consider using an LWD instead of writing the final exam. The preliminary course list for summer will be available in January and the full timetable becomes available in February. Course registration opens in early March.  There are two sessions in the summer, First (F), May-June, and Second (S), July-August.  A \u2018Y\u2019 course, eg. MAT133Y1, runs from the beginning of the F term to the end of the S term, i.e. May – August. Courses in the summer are condensed compared to a typical fall and winter semester so you can expect the pace of the summer courses to be twice as fast.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Please book an appointment with an RC Academic Advisor via the RC Portal<\/a> as soon as<\/strong> you think you may not meet the GA requirements. An advisor can work with you to make a plan going forward and provide supporting resources, should you need them. In some exceptional cases, students can request an extension in order to complete their GA requirements; this is done in consultation with an academic advisor at Rotman Commerce.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Yes \u2013 any payment <\/strong>you make now will count towards your Y2 Rotman Commerce fees. <\/strong>Once you have met your GA requirements and have accepted the invitation into your Specialist program, you will see additional fees <\/strong>reflected on your student account \u2013 those are higher<\/strong>, deregulated Rotman Commerce fees,<\/strong> and will need to be paid in early October <\/strong>to avoid service charges.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n

For students who meet all of the Guaranteed Admission requirements by the end of the winter term (i.e. April), the timeline is outlined on the Enrolling in a Specialist page<\/a>. For those who do not meet GA requirements until the end of the first summer term (i.e. June) or later, the pathways are shown below.
