Consult for Impact is an experiential learning opportunity that encourages you to apply your\u00a0theoretical knowledge\u00a0of business\u00a0to real-world scenarios. Students who complete the program will have developed their research, analytical, and communication skills, and will be well positioned to explore opportunities in management consulting\u00a0and not-for-profit industries.<\/p>\n

In teams of three or five, you will provide pro-bono (unpaid) consulting services to not-for-profit organizations, social start-ups or a university-affiliated organization. You\u2019ll experience first-hand the operation of providing consulting services to a client organization in a structured learning environment.<\/p>\n

Eligibility<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Second, third and\u00a0fourth-year\u00a0Rotman Commerce students are eligible to apply to be student consultants in the Consult for Impact program. Applicants should be passionate\u00a0about creating social impact in their community, able to articulate their commitment,\u00a0and\u00a0have a commitment\u00a0to learning\u00a0consulting skills, tools\u00a0and methodologies.<\/p>\n

Consult for Impact student consultants will:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Attend all training sessions and team meetings<\/li>\n
  • Perform\u00a0in-depth research and analysis<\/li>\n
  • Identify optimal solutions and strategies<\/li>\n
  • Provide sound recommendations based on research\u00a0and analysis<\/li>\n
  • Collaborate\u00a0with team members to write and present\u00a0project proposals and reports<\/li>\n
  • Maintain ongoing contact with their external partner organization<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Student consultants do not implement\u00a0the project\/recommendations for the external partner.<\/p>\n

    Commitment\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    Student consultants must be available for weekly meetings, starting the second week of the semester until the completion of the project for each client. Student consultants will be required to dedicate 5+ hours per week to the program, including attending training and coaching sessions and completing the assignments, reports, and presentations in collaboration with teammates.<\/p>\n

      Consult for Impact applications for students are currently closed and will re-open July 2026 for upcoming academic year.<\/div>\n
