Rotman Commerce student claims inaugural HSBC LGBT award

Vincent Ho, Class of 2014, has been named the winner of the inaugural HSBC LGBT Student Award, which recognizes academic achievement, leadership, and community service through participation in the LGBT organizations or initiatives at the University of Toronto.

The incoming President of the Rotman Commerce Pride Alliance, Vincent has been active on the organizing committee of UofT’s Lead with Pride Conference for LGBT student leaders, as well as with VicPride. He counts himself fortunate to have the support of family, friends, and professionals as an LGBT student, and hopes that his involvement in LGBT initiatives on campus will help provide other students with a sense of comfort and belonging. As recipient of the award, Vincent will receive a $5000 scholarship, and will be given the opportunity to be considered for a Summer Internship at HSBC Bank of Canada and as a candidate for the Management Trainee program after graduation.
