Donald Guloien began his climb to the top of the financial services giant, Manulife, in 1981 as research analyst. Over the past 33 years, he has occupied many senior roles in the company and seen it through massive global growth. His expertise has been recognized the world over. Named the International Business Executive of the Year in 2012 by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, he has been awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal, and is a member of the Mayor of Shanghai’s International Business Leaders’ Advisory Council, the Canadian Council of Chief Executives, and the World Presidents’ Organization. He is also a Director of the Geneva Association.

Mr. Guloien is actively involved with the University of Toronto, where he is a member of the Campaign Cabinet for the Rotman School of Management, and a recipient of the Arbor Award for his contributions to the University.  He is a former member of the University of Toronto Governing Council, the Dean’s Advisory Committee for the School of Graduate Studies, and the Hart House Board of Stewards.  He has also served on the boards of the Children’s Aid Society Foundation, the ThinkFirst Foundation of Canada, and LIMRA International.
