Founder and CEO
In 2009, Vinay Chopra founded Mobiroo, the Toronto-based company that’s launching an Android app subscription service (think Netflix for apps) in 15+ countries by mid-2014. Prior to the subscription platform, Mobiroo created and launched the first-ever app gift card platform in 2009 for top paid Android™ and BlackBerry® apps sold in retail and used as a gift-with-purchase incentive for major telecom providers, in over 20+ countries, with partners such as: Vodafone, Orange, Carphone Warehouse, Best Buy, O2, BlackBerry, and many others.
The all-you-can-eat app subscription platform, an expansion to the gift card business, started development in mid-2012, and launched in late 2013, with multiple regions being launched in 2014 through carriers and device manufacturers, including in North America, APAC, LATAM, Europe, and Middle East.
In late 2011, Mobiroo was honoured to be named one of Deloitte’s Companies to Watch Winners.
Chopra holds a Bachelor of Commerce, with a major in Economics from the University of Toronto, and earned an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
